ASPA Certification Standards
The American Salvage Pool Association launched the ASPA Certification Program, the only standards recognized by the industry's professionals, at the annual convention in 2001. These standards will continue to “evolve” along with the demands of our industry. As new technological innovations and re-marketing concepts are developed, the ASPA standards will continue to evolve with them, ensuring the ASPA brand name is synonymous with the highest quality in the insurance salvage recovery industry.
Every Certified ASPA Pool Will:

Comply with all Federal, State and Local laws providing for the legal storage and sale of salvage vehicles.

Possess the highest level of professional experience, including a formal training program for all employees and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) in the areas of Customer Service and related industry topics.

Provide adequate Transportation resources to comply with customer service level agreements for timely pick-up of all salvage vehicles.
- Be able to pre-pay on behalf of customers all outstanding charges incurred against vehicles assigned for pick up. - Possess Adequate Physical Facilities to ensure:
- Access to vehicles for Customers and Owners during normal business hours.
- 24 Hour Security against theft and pilferage.
- Orderly, clear aisles and stalls adequately spaced to prevent vehicle damage.
- Areas for Insurance Re-inspection and Office functions.
- Provide complete title transfer and salvage title processing service, in compliance with all federal, state and local salvage disclosure laws.
- All Sale Transactions must:*
- Attempt to maximize the recovery to the customer on every vehicle.
- Adhere to all state and federal salvage disclosure requirements.
- Comply with all state and local laws governing the transference of vehicles and records retention.
- Be conducted without any conflicts of interest, real or apparent.
- Provide every qualified bidder the same opportunity to purchase each vehicle.
- (*Agreements requiring the direct purchase of salvage notwithstanding)
- Be in 100% compliance with their stated service level agreements, with each customer, for the payment/reimbursement of sale proceeds.
Vehicle Tracking and Reporting Capabilities:
- Must be capable of tracking claim and vehicle inventory information for every vehicle processed, from assignment to file closure.
- Must be capable of providing customers pending inventory reports upon request.
- Must be capable of providing sale results reports to customers upon request. - Carry adequate insurance coverage. Provide each customer a Certificate of Insurance as Additional Insured, upon request.
